SMART HOSE, SAFETY SOLUTION
In time all hoses will fail in service! The controlled release of product as a result if a hose failure is industry’s worst nightmare. The results can be catastrophic. The smart hose safety solution should be considered for all your hazardous transfer hose applications. Smart hose is suitable for use with metal, Teflon and most rubber flexible hoses from ¼” to 6”.
The safety system, in the event of an uncontrolled release of product caused by a hose burst or end separation will shut off the flow of product in both directions. The Smart Hose design works by a cable through the hose that is providing thrust to keep two poppet's on either end of the hose in the open position. When the hose bursts or has an end separation the poppet is released at both ends and shuts down the flow of the product.
The Smart Hose is not a “new hose design” it is a new concept of end fitting, in most cases through hose engineering we use the same hose types that you currently use.
